I have been shooting some lower than needed spined arrows.(wood). picked up one of each at a local shop today. 2016, 2018, goldtip 5575.125 gr. target pt. solid vanes. no helical almost straight. The arrows are fishtailing is that because there is no give on the vane.shooting a little left. I shoot left. does anyone put feathers on arrows like these? I think If I work out the bug I will be very acurate.(for me)lol.thanks
Gene

geno,I shoot 2016 with 3 5in feathers. The vanes maybe what is causing the fishtailing. The owner of the local archery shop here keeps a dozen 2016's with feathers at all times just for trad shooters.

Feathers are the way to go. But what is your set up. What kind of bow, length, weight, string, your draw length. That will help us so we could help you. Alan

Do you use any weight inserts. The only reason I bought the 2016 is because I forgot what I read here was 2018. either way I have three to test. no inserts.

A #1...you need feathers on those arrows, not vanes.

With your draw 29", your pulling about 48lb-49lb. I would try 1916 with a 100gr or 125gr. Good luck and have fun. Alan
