selfbow question

Got a question for the selfbow shooters / makers. I'd like to start shooting a selfbow but have a problem with the classic longbow grip. I broke a bone in my wrist many years ago and can't shoot that style without pain and swelling. I've been shooting a recurve for the last 25 years with no problem. Is it possible to make selfbow with a recurve style grip?

Slick... I have the same basic problem as you and yes you can put a recurve style grip on a longbow... it'll just make some of the purists puke! :D
I have found that some of the locator type grips allow my to tip my hand into the pivot point enough to make shooting the bow pleasant... it doesn't seem to take much.
Archers have been shaping their bow's grips to suit themselves for thousands of years... go for it.

Here is a grip I put on an osage selfbow. It was comfortable. I'm sure as long as the limbs work into the fades, any grip style is possible.
