Public Apology to the Surtees Clan
« on: June 09, 2010, 07:01:00 AM »
The 1K and MKC LLC's jumped on Ms. Delaneys pound cakes this year to offer up some $$$ for St Judes Kids. As all of you nkow, this is the 3rd year these two "organizations" have gone after it, with much teasing and probing to push each other to raise the most $$$ we could.

Well, ol put-his-foot-in-his-mouth has done it again. I made some comments about Chris that were totally unwelcomed and as sometimes happens with the written word, were also totally misunderstood.
Chris and Larry have both privately told me that it was over, raise money for the kids.  I can't put it behind me. I would NEVER say or do anything derogatory towards any vet.  Since I embarrassed them on a public forum, I feel like I should apologize on one.

To the Surtees family of soldiers and sailors;
My deepest, heartfelt apologies.

Very upstanding of you Biggie.  These darn computers don't convey intent very well, and the way a thought rattles around in our heads sometimes doesn't come out the same way on here.

They don't come any better than the Surtees clan, and I know that in reality you have the utmost respect for them, as does every person on Trad Gang.

Tone doesn't always convey well on here and somethings are out of bounds. We don't always know what those things are but when we find out this is the right thing to do. Good on you Biggie for apologizing.

Chris and Larry are great folks who take their service seriously. The family has it's third generation in combat now and that is a true family of American heroes.

Big of you Mr. Biggie. All of you are outstanding citzens of TradGangville! I commend each of you for your dedication to the kids of St. Judes. It is because of many folks like yourselves that mountains become molehills and the kids are so fortunate for your efforts.  :notworthy:    :notworthy:    :notworthy:

Thank you!

It came over "wrong" and as most any father would do, defend the family's name!

However, it's over and done, and let's move on!  The final night of this great Auction is tonight and it's a chance to make history!

Though I've never met Larry, Chris or Biggie I know that they all have huge hearts. Both for the kids and as brothers who love to shoot traditional archery.
I have the utmost respect for all of you and really hope that someday our paths will cross.   :notworthy:    :notworthy:    :notworthy:

Some times things said in fun can be misunderstood I have a way of doing that myself. But when you clear the air in public everyone should understand then, way to go Biggie.
