Arrow selection question.

I am venturing back into traditional archery after a long break.  I am trading my back-up compound for an Assenheimer.  Bow is 64", 56#@29"
I used to shoot only wood, but they are long since gone.  For the time being I am looking to go with aluminum before starting to search for compressed cedars.  What is you size recommendation?  2018, 2215, etc?

Google Stu Miller's Dynamic Spine Calculator and download this program. You just have to plug in the numbers for your bow and the shaft you would like to use. It'll let you if they're a match or how close you are.

From what I see, I need a 65# wood shaft or a 2016 aluminum

2016 seems a little light, but I have had good luck with Stu Miller's calculator.  I would think a 2018 would work, especially if you cut it a little longer than the 2016 and/or went with a heavier point.  The 2018 would be a little more durable, a little heavier, and a heavier tip would get a little higher FOC.

You can play with heavier arrows, point weight, etcetera, on the spine calculator to see what other arrows would work.

I would second the 2018s. They used to be my go to arrow out of bows similar. I now shoot carbons and would shoot a 400 spine carbon cut long and adjusted with the right amount of weight up front. Good luck!

I'd go with a 2018,I shot them for years from 55lb bows
I'm lucky I'm mr average in archery,28" draw=28.5" arrow,,125g points,,to easy.
For longbows I go for the lower spine rating,for recurves the higher.
For my 50lb bows I buy 45-50 spine for a longbow,but 50-55lb for a recurve.
