3 Piece longbows and Compton
« on: June 14, 2010, 04:35:00 PM »
All the Bob Lee 3-piece longbow owners out there…what do you like and dislike about them?  I’m heading to Compton this weekend and if I could find a good used one I might get inclined to buy one if the price is right.

I guess I’m looking for some comparison to the other 3 piece longbows out there…Kota Nomad, Pronghorn, Dryad Orion and a few others.

Those that have owned/shot some of these what have been your impressions?  I’ve shot the Nomad and liked it a lot…I hope someone has a used Pronghorn and I know Dryad is going to be there (I think).

Just wondering…if not at Compton I’m looking for one a Denton for sure!

Thanks,

Josh

Look for Tom Parsons of Kimsha.  I shot a couple of his bows last week and and really liked them.  Went for a t/d longbow and ended up with a one piece D- shaped.

Josh, I don't know much about the BL.  I can bring my 3 pc Pronghorn for you to shoot but you would have to want her REALLY bad to take her home.  Be sure to stop by my TFS booth and say HI!  Rick

Hey Josh,
I have a 62" Bob Lee 3p.  w/ 2 sets of limbs.  One is a 54# at 29" and the other set is 44# at 28". Stop by camp and take her for a spin on the course.  May help to make up your mind. She's an oldie but goody. She's not currently for sale though. Just thought you should know..........

Be very careful with the Orion...you might just fall in love...I did! It is the best three piece bow I've shot. Oh, and the dirty boo

It is one of two bows I will NEVER part with. My 46# Kanati is the other.
