I use to own a chek-mate hunter II a few years ago, with two sets of limbs. I liked to bow very much, but sold it to finance my re-entry into olympic archery. Since then, I hunted with a warf style recurve, that had very nice speed.
I thought I would try to rekindle the fondness I had for the Chekmate and picked up another hunter II from a member here. Would I like to shoot it as well as the metal riser, performance warfs? Would it have speed anywhere close to the warf?
My 50# proline riser with hoyt carbon plus limbs at 31" shot the 415 grain acc arrow at 200 fps. My chekmate gave me 52# on the fingers at 31". Speed? 202.5 fps. Not too shabby for the wood risered, wood and glass limbs bow. Shot nicely, but had more vibration than the metal riser. I shot some heavier arrows as well. 440 grain arrow= 198 fps; 470 grain = 193 fps and 495 grain = 188 fps.
Thought I would let you know.
