They say they can "hunt" out of season because they're using cameras. In Mississippi, there's a law against harassing wildlife that prevents using a light at night to observe deer, for instance. I believe this same law will keep them out of this state, at least for out-of-season hunts. Sounds like harassment to me!

I think most anybody can go out and see a good buck within rifle distance.  That is not hunting.  I go out of state hunting every year and see deer that are 150"-200" regularly... but they are not within bow range usually.  It is pretty easy to stumble within 100 yards of an animal.  Where is the hunting in that?

Well, that is my rant.  I think its just another silly way to get some of the arm chair hunters to watch a TV show.  It will draw some of the same folks that never set foot in the woods until opening morning of gun season.  Then they go out and become a hazard to the rest of the population.
But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. Psalms 3:3

Why don't they just ditch the hunter bit and give the guys cameras!  All they are finding is the worlds best tool that can take a picture . . . I know plenty of them, lol.

In all seriousness if they would have this competition except for wildlife-photographers it wouldn't be so bad.  Just make it 3 days public land, and things would be interesting.

Real deer hunters shoot bows anyway.  Anything with a trigger is cheating, except maybe a flintlock.

Just read Gene Wensel's book "Come November"...he talked alot about giving the anti's ammo, and this is exactly what he was talking about in my opinion. This is not respecting the animals and our God given right to hunt. This is one of those things we have to work hard as a group to make up for. It stains us all even if we have NOTHING to do with this crap...write letters. Make some phone calls, be diligent...this is crap.

Yep, I agree they used to be fun to watch. If I wanted a reality show, I'd watch MTV. I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Look, this stuff is nonsense. And I hope they stay out of my neck of the woods. The deer need little incentive to go nocturnal as it is. This is wildlife harassment, pure and simple. But I bet they "hunt" the deer behind fenced enclosures. Only exists to sell more crap.

They want to have a contest, give them something to hunt that would be more useful.  How about rodents in a feed mill with slingshots?    :D   Sounds like something more entertaining, and less rehearsed. But then, I suppose the anti's would say the rodents were taken inhumanely.  The point is you can't win with hunting contests because hunting is not a contest.
If man were to know everything in advance, there would be no such thing as adventure!

The "demise" of the first attempt at this (WHA) was pretty much brought on by hunters like yourselves bombarding the few sponsors.  One of those sponsors happened to be G5.  I received multiple emails and letters from them after reminding them (many times) that most companies don't survive when their client base disappears...and that their support of this "insane venture" would likely lead in that direction.  I know many other hunters that did the same.  It did not take them long to see the err of their ways and they dropped their support of WHA like a hot potatoe.

I've always scratched my head when seeing what goes on at those B.A.S.S tournaments.  It boggles my mind to this day as to what got into that man's head to make him want to start a bass fishing competition.  Oh wait....I know....$$$$$$.

This too shall pass!  Can you picture the PETA demonstrations at these "events"?
