Fed LEO... After 10 years military it just made sense for me to be able to use all that time towards retirement. I have 10yrs the job, with another 10 or 12 to go...

But you fine fellows patrolling the street are the real heroes... Thanks for all you do!!!

I spent 14 years in law enforcement before a third knee surgery forced a job change. I spent the last 21 years as a teacher, just retired last month. I can't wait for fall when everyone else goes back to work and I go hunting LOL!

My dad is also a retired cop.

Two years Naval Special Warfare type until I lost the majority of the 3000-6000 decibal range in my left ear. Only option was to change my MOS or get an Honorable discharge-which I did. After being pissed at the world for a couple months, I joined the local Sheriff's Office and within a short time I was an operator on the SWAT Team-entry element first, them sniper for the past 8years of tour. A late 2009 rotator cuff tear during the execution of a search warrant an subsequent surgery resigned me to "pass the torch" to the young guns. I currently am the senior detective assigned to the Organized Crime/ Narcotics Unit. In total, I have 16 yrs on and 5 to go until I'm eligible for drop.

15 years as a game warden until a family situation required a move and change to a biologist position.  I still miss chasing the wildlife bandits.

I'm also glad to see there are so many officers on this site and say "Thank you".  But I have to ask the question, am I the only smart one who's a fireman?  Started my 10th year on the 4th of June.  Lord willing I've got 20years and 11 months to go.

Thank You!! to all who have served our country and communities I for one am proud to share this space with you.

Oh and 10 years in CA Dept. of Corrections as a correctional officer until I blew 3 discs in my back forcing an early job change. But I too have many interesting stories from those 10 years at a Max. Security Prison secured housing unit.

At nineteen, I started as a correctional officer,
now 18 years later, I'm still counting down the 12 more years until I can retire.

This is why I originally got into archery, because with this type of job, I knew I needed a hobby, and didn't like golf, so I decided to try archery as a stress relief...what a great sport/hobby to help me keep my sanity!   :clapper:

    Sent for each of you to remain safe.
