Anneewakee recurve at Comptons?
« on: June 16, 2010, 10:42:00 AM »
I would like to hear from annyone who has a Anneewakee recurve or a Hoots recurve thats going to Comptons. I would like to see one of these bows. If its possible we could meet up some where? I'm going Saturday.
I was looking forward to Annewakee being there but I just talked to John and it sounds like hes very busy and isnt going to make it this year.
Thanks.

That's a shame. It's a fun experience. The little bows are such a surprise in smoothness and punch that it is hard to get them out of your mind after you "try one on for size".

Are you going to be at ATAR, (WV, the second weekend in July), Doug? There'll be a plethora of Annawakee Addictions there, and a number Hootsbows too, I imagine.

Well I'm saving up the funds for one. I might wait until January and hopefuly get to try one out at the Traditional Expo in Kalamazoo Mi. But I'm tempted to get one before to deer hunt with. I realy would like to shoot one first before I buy.A 54",53-55#@27" would be perfect!  :D

Wish I could help you. I really think the Addictions  are the ideal hunting "aid", especially for tree stands and/or ground blinds, where space might be limited/restricted. My "Blackie" Addiction is a 54" and 50# @ 28" (though I only pull about 25"), and would be a good one for you to try.  Which I would be more than willing to let you do. Howerver, I ain't parting with it long enough for you to do that - unless we are in the same place at the same time -   :goldtooth:

Short of some shoot/rendezvous, I guess your best bet is to get in touch whith John Dill (or Lee Hoots).

Thanks for the offer and I dont blame you for not letn go of it. I do almost all of my hunting from the ground. I realy liked the look of the bow Lee called his yellow jacket bow.I have already talked to both guys. So now its just making up my mind and getting the $$$$ lined up.
Tomorrow is my wedding anniversery so I wonder if my wife would like a new bow????

Doug, now thats the spirit. I bought my wife a new chainsaw for our 25th wedding anniversery. Our 26th is comming up and I think she would love a new outboard motor for my john boat. If you ever get to New Bern, NC. look me up and you can shoot my addiction. It's a nice bow for hunting and I have cut a few notches in it. DB

I bought her a motorcycle a couple years ago.  I already have 3 chainsaws she can use. This will be our 21st so I think a new bow would be something special she would remember.   :D    :D    :D

Doug

Lee said he would have 25 to 30 Addictions ready for ATAR (LOL)  ;)  That would give Lee a heart attack. I hope to have a few for you to see on the web also.
