RER TD vs Assenheimer...what do you think?

Just bought a RER.  Fits me great.  Smooth to draw, very quiet and quick.  Kevin and Sue were great to work with.

I own an Assenheimer and have shot a RER.  They are both super recurves, but overall, I prefer the feel of the Assenheimer.  Don Assenheimer and his wife are super people to deal with.  I find that Assenheimers are extremely quiet, great speed and very smooth shooters.  My recommendation is to shoot both if possible, before you make your decision.  Good luck.

I shot a 58 inch, 63# Assemheimer. Don't know what it is, but that bow felt like a 53 pounder instead of 63. It scaled to 63# too!

Did I mention it was smooth for a short bow at that weight?

Don is 25 minutes up the road and I wish I had the cash to get one of his bows.....

and an ACS and a Black Creek and a Lost Creek and a Thunder Child...that about covers my wish list.

Oh yeah, the original question....get the Assenheimer IF it fits you!

I am getting ready to post a 2008 Assenmheimer for sale.  It's 52@26 58".  Curly Zebrawood on the back and Rosewood on the belly of the limbs.  It has Zebrawood riser with Cocobolo grip in the riser.  It is the Master Hunter Elite.  Look for it to be posted in the Classifieds.  Pics available if interested.

They are both great bows and made by top shelf guys. I have had more than one of both.

Just my .02 pennys worth but the RER with the static limb may be a tick quicker.

They are both well made and will be around for your grandkids.

I don't know anything about the RER but a buddy of mind shoots an assenheimer and he swears by it.  I've heard nothing but good about these bows and it's one bow on my wish list.

Lot's of good advice, with Rob's above being sage advice, what works for you is what is best.
I have never shot an RER but did trade for an Assemheimer a while ago and dang that sure is a smooth drawing hard hitting bow that I pick up for my goto all of the time. It was made in 91 and is a 66" that pulls about 56# at my 28" draw. Really is a solid bow that shows no signs of tiring. Good luck and hope you find the one that's right for you.
