Trad Gang @ Comptons - 2010

Here are a few pictures from the rendezvous within a rendezvous. Yesterday at 11am

Quite a representation of this fine site, if you ask me.

Man did I miss it! The storm Friday night caused train delays for my wife and then when I picked her up and we FINALLY found a place to stay with power she was very sick. Had to pack up and leave Saturday. Looks like the biggest get together at Compton's ever. Good job!

I was 50 feet away helping with the kids cast iron cooking class - spaced out the TG gathering until I saw the group photo happening. Met or already knew most of the gang. See you there again next year and here until then.

Cripe!  Never can get to that side of the camp ground at that time.  Involved in the kids shoot so I'm never w/ the Tradgang folks.  AHHH!!

O.K.......a couple of "late arrivers". They missed the group shot, but my wife got 'em anyways.

First one is Tom Jenkins (KentuckyTJ) and I think perhaps Todd Haner (xtrema312).

The second picture.......needs no introduction.

Lots more to come over the next few days. I just had to add these tonight.

I saw most everybody in the main tent at some point. I couldn't leave the booth for the gathering, and am sorry for it.

Great to see old friends and make new ones.

My tent and everything in it got a bath during the storm. I regret missing the get together, left Saturday morning.

I was pretty busy with my vendor's booth in the big tent and couldn't get away for the rendezvous. I'd have loved to meet the tradgangers but I think I met several in the big top anyway. It was a great time... although Friday's hurricane was an adventure. Tom

What a group!!!!

It was very cool meeting everyone that I had a chance to say hi to. I look funny in the pic, don't think I knew which camera to look at, thus the crooked smile.  :goldtooth:
Just one more step please!

I regret not being there.  Just too much going on at work.  Hoping to make Denton to meet some TG members in person.

Please let me introduce to you, Michael and Lillian........two upstanding young adults that didn't have anything better to do than hang out with us "traditional folk" and sling some arrows. We shot every course with them and I truly enjoyed their company.

Michael made both his and Lillian's bows out of red oak......and handcrafted the arrows too. This is our future....folks, and I was proud to play a small part in it.

These two were raised right and Michael, I still say you owe your Dad......big time. He is everything that a father should be and you should be proud to have him in your life and doing things with you. Your young......but someday in the future you'll remember that some "West Virginia Hillbilly".....told ya so.

So........without further adoo.........

"UnderControl16" and "Lillian"

Now I have a few "full draw" pictures of our little Trad Gang group shooting the courses.

First off......these daring shooters from our group, chose to sit astride a fresh off the plains of Argentina an unbroken "wild" bucking bronco

The next shooters in our group chose a more "sure footed" approach to launching their arrows.

Tom Jenkins....aka....KentuckyTJ

Bryce Olson.....aka......Wasapt

Bryan Horner.....aka.....Horner

.....and.....myself

I think I ought to take this time and space to thank my lovely wife of 30 years for not only taking all these pictures for me, but for putting up with my "traddiction". She truly is "One in a million".
