I dont know much still of what is considered "extreme" but here are some pics of my Treadway Black Swamp, unstrung it looks like a recurve doesn't she???

What you think?

Who came up with this "if the string doesn't touch the limb it's a longbow?!" If the limbs are "recurving" when strung then one could easily argue it's a recurve by definition of the limbs being, uh, "recurved!" Or call it a hybrid if you wish. But it's definitely not a longbow. Once again, I don't object to hybrids-there are some outstanding shooters out there falling under that description; I just object to hybrids being called longbows! Recurve risers, recurved limbs-it's a recurve, I mean HYBRID! Just my opinion.    ;)        :D

Do you have a suggestion for the person's question Curveman? I doubt he is concerned that you object to him calling it a longbow.

For me, Big Jim has the coolest looking extreme RD bow.

Does the Howard Hill Badger made by Craig Ekin count as Extreme R/D?

Check out Stiker bows, they actually make a bow that changes from a recurve to a hybrid long bow by adjusting the brace height.

Exactly.  I don't care what it's called.  How about we call it a "reculongbow"?  :D

Love the looks of that bow.  How come I've never seen a HH Badger before?  Is it a new model?

The Badger is an unadvertised bow by Craig. It is 62" long and can be made in any # Draw wt. I am really considering getting a Carbon or "Black Badger" with a dished grip.

I am a Hill Fan so it is just plain cool! Supposedly, no hand shock and really fast.

I have a HH "Black Bear" Carbon Wesley Special T/D 66" 80# at 28", I got from a TG member. It is an awesome Howard Hill bow

I gave my suggestion boys on page one. There have been several nice ones since. I did interject a little editorial after that but what the heck, this is an opinion forum!    :bigsmyl:

Thanks IA,

I do apologize though if I picked the wrong spot to editorialize. I meant no offense to anyone. I thought my "opening" for my opinion was inherent in the question by the author of the post: "I'm talking about the kind of curve in the limbs that if you were to extend them a few more inches, it would want to transform into a recurve...." It does want to! It does want to! It wants you to accept its true nature!   :biglaugh:

Might take a look at the Fox Archery Royal Crown also. Great design and a great shooting bow.

I'd call the Badger an extreme deflex/half reflex.   :)   They are really cool though!

What about a Cari-bow Peregrine? Very fast hybrid with no handshock, very smooth draw and superb craftmanship!
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that string! [/i]
