Dave2old said my piece. I cringe a little at these posts, because I know that out there is someone who would gladly take advantage of us, as there are those who will take advantage of our elders, who operate under older rules of decency and honor.
But I am proud to be among the members here who "Ride, shoot straight, and speak the truth", as it settles an unsettled spirit, makes me realize that there are yet those who remember old ways and honor them, that there are those who yet value pure and honest dealings with fellow humans.
I believe that trad archery attracts the good, those who will take the extra effort, walk the extra mile in order to savor more fully the accomplishments that they may reap. But, as there have been thefts at trad gatherings, we need to be a bit more wise, and keep closer tabs on what is going on, though it is a pain in the aspidistra. At one point, in the early surge backward into the age of simple bows and simple dealings, I told my friends that trad shoots, forums and dealings have the feeling of Woodstock, but without all those drugs.
Well, Woodstock is over, the thieves have seen the pickings at some events, and it would pay to keep an eye open and a nostril tuned to the wind. Remain a deer, but not a pet-farm deer.
