Arrow help please

Hi all,
I'm shooting a late 70's Bear Super Kodiak 45@28 I wan't to shoot aluminum arrows but am having a horrible time finding the correct spine. Everything I shoot is flying tail right or with a bad wobble. Can someone on here PLEASE tell me the proper way to find my correct spine and arrow length? Do I need to buy some spine kits? and try a bunch of different arrows/lengths? I shoot one over two under and have tried 2117's at various lengths,2018's etc. I'm getting frustrated with the whole situation. I'd like 2010 to be the year I get my first trad kill but not with this crap going on........    :mad:    LOL

Stu Millers calculator is a great help, but you're also way overspined which is certainly not helping you.  Your down in the 1916 range, even less if your using an elevated rest that moves your arrow away from the bow.

I assume your using feathers?

Well I downloaded the DSC and think I have it figured out correctly? LOL.  It looks like it says I'd need to use a 1913?

I'm shooting off the shelf and have 5" feathers on the 2018's I was trying to use. I draw 28" the bow is 45# at 28" I have no idea what my inserts weigh or nocks etc as I have no grain scale,the BOP is 28.25

I entered the information of what I could and then selected various shafts until I got down to the poundage I'm drawing shooting at and ended up with a 1913 with 125 grain point at 28"

Anyway,like I said I "think" I had it figured out. Not real sure? Nobody I know shoots traditional so don't have anyone local to ask.

I shot 28" BOP 2016's from my Super K, but a 1916 may be better for you, depending on actual length and point weight.  With a 29" arrow and heavier than 125 point, the 2016 should work well.  A 2018 and 2117 will be too stiff, as evidenced by the tail right flight.

You need a 1916 30" long with 125 grain tips. Or else a 1816 cut at 29" and you will be in the ballpark. Also, play with your brace height up and down to find your sweet spot. Maybe your nock height also.

try 2018 or 2016 i think youll like em i shoot a 52 # bow and 2117 works great for me i would have thought they would shoot beter for you remember the heavier the arrow the quieter so maybe experament with tip wgt. on your 2117 see if that helps good shootin and good luck

Ditto COlongbow and Fletcher - I shoot 28" 2016 out of my 45# kodiak have 125 grain tips.
