New Bear Bows for Fall 2010
« on: June 28, 2010, 02:18:00 PM »
I have been hearing a lot buzz about the new Bear Bows coming out this fall. I heard they reshaped a lot of their risers and grips making them more user friendly. Also I hear they are also updating the look of the Grizzly. Also, rumor has it they may be putting out a retro line of their 60's bows. Has anyone seen any pictures of these bows? If so, what's your opinion on them?

Best that they can do is hire Brandon Stahl, he makes a Bear Bow better than Bear in my opinion.

I wish Bear would make the Super Kodiak in a 64" length instead of just the 60" length model they make now.

I am talking about the NEW models not the supremes. The supremes have been out for years.

ive heard this too.  supposedly bear archery was contacting quite a few bowyers for tips and suggestions for their new but classic line.

I'm really looking forward to see what they may come up with.  It may be a good thing that I have room on my bowracks!  ;)

I just about swallowed my chew when I saw a Bear bow priced at $1,399.99.

If I ever think about buying one of these my wife should just shoot me. I'll give her the gun and bullets  with which she can use to put me down because it would mean I've gone "Mad"!

God bless,Mudd

Mudd, I thought the same thing when the Signiture T/D came out back in 1980 or so. I showed my wife the brochure and she said go ahead and buy it if I really wanted it. It was around a $1,000. I didn't as that was a pretty good chunk of change back then. Worth about five times that today.

there are a couple guys that work for bear on the other site and they pretty much confirmed it.  the super grizzly is coming back and many of the grips on the bows are changed as well as the narrowing of the tips on all of their bows.  they were also saying another classic is coming back but hes not allowed to say!  i bet its a kodiak hunter!  they also sad that the guys at bear measured his 59 kodiak so HOW AWESOME WOULD THAT BE!!!!!

In my opinion, the Bear Signature TD at $1399 is way overpriced. It's a bow whose poundage is still measured at 28" in 5# increments. Any bow whose poundage is measured at 28" and in 5# increments is nothing more than a production made bow. If I'm going to spend $1399 of my hard earned money, a bow's poundage is going to be built at the poundage I want (plus or minus 1#) and measured for me at my 30" draw length, not at 28". Also, I want the limbs to be made out of bamboo, not hard rock maple.

I bought Supreme B handle with 50# limbs in March? I received Supreme A handle last week (took 12 weeks to build). I have 45# limbs for it. These are not custom bows but they are built as good as my customs. I really like the A handle. This one will be my blind bow. The bows are very salty, nearly as pricey as Snakebit by Blacktail but the fit and finish is fantastic. I've always loved the limb attachment system of these Bear TDs.

Reference original post. I've heard also Bear has some retro plans.  I'm very interested but agree with others that Brandon builds a Mean 1-piece Suoer Wildcat!  Maybe those retro plans explain the very long build times for Supremes?

I posted a couple of weeks ago that Bear rep's were at Cloverdale. They wanted to get input and feed back from guy's like us. From what they were saying things are going to change for the better. You can do a search for Bear at Cloverdale to read what's in the work's.
