I'm located about 65 miles northeast of Portland.  You might find some folks from the Portland area by checking the Maine Traditional Archers (MTA) new website.  MTA has its club meetings in Durham, which is just outside Freeport (home of L.L. Beans), which is near Portland.

I am in Gorham, Just east of Portland. 10-15 min.
