Agressive R/D, 1 pc or takedown, WOOHOO!!  Longbows either way, love a good Hill too. I am a "longbowman".  Though I have a soft spot for Border Hex recurves also.

I have 2 Hills that I go to. My 65# Wesley Special was all I used till an injury caused me to step down in draw weight. Now my 55# Cheetah is my current choice.

I was a bit surprised to see that the poll suggests most Trad Gang members are longbow guys. I would have guessed recurves would lead the parade.

I think it is important to define what a longbow is. When a longbow is a D-shape bow, with no or little r/d, I am a recurve- man.

But modern longbows come very close to recurves. I have a hard time to choose between modern high r/d longbows, like hybrids, and recurves. At the moment  I prefer 3 pce recurves. But I also love my hybrid.
The " old fashioned" D- shape straight longbows are not my cup of thee.
So I guess I am more a recurve- man.
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that string! [/i]

I shoot both recurves and R/D longbows (3pc) . My Caribow (Silver Fox) has been with me for the fall daily hunts and really enjoy it!  I just enjoy shooting bows and have fun with the one I have in hand, but must say I voted longbow!

I agree with you 4dogs, but shot timing at game is more difficult than just shooting groups at a target.

My "go-to" bow is my Assenheimer recurve, however I will be spending a lot of time this year with my new Hill Country K-2.

Listening to all the chatter, I would have thought the poll results would have been in the neighborhood of 90% hill type.
Sherwood forest must not be that crowded after all.  :dunno:

So far, for me, one piece recurves have the highest tally. I switched to hybrid bows for a bit but now I'm back to recurves.

Saxon Longbows suit me fine.  I own five of them in different draw weights and can hunt bunnies to elk.

Up until last Friday I would have said my TD Blacktail recurve without hesitation.  Then my new Schafer Silvertip one-piece recurve came in the mail.  Now I'm not so sure...   :saywhat:
