Flyfish1, I love the 4 shield 4" fletchings. I don't have to worry about how to place the arrow on the string and they fly great!
Isaiah 49:2...he made me a polished arrow and concealed me in his quiver.

Nice job snag! I prefer 4 fletch also. I tried some splicing last summer and they didn't turn out to good.

Yours look great! Where did you find the info on how to do it?......was it here on Trad Gang?

Guys like FerretWYO are always a big help. I think  grinding the base off of the quills works pretty well. But if I can strip the base off it gives me a thin layer of the membrane that holds the quills and it is kind of curved of domed. So it fits really nicely onto the membrane you are splicing onto. Just what I have found to work pretty well. I am sure if you do a search for "splicing" you will get lots of info.

Well I have to get to making some more. I have some shafts that are already for fletching, they just need some of these spliced fletchings now!     :thumbsup:

Snag: You can crown dip with Rit dye and still see the wood grain. Looks cool.
