TallTines Pics?
« on: July 05, 2010, 02:22:00 PM »
Well, finally couldn't take it anymore and sold a bunch of stuff to pay for a new TallTines recurve    I'm thinking 57#@30", 62-64". I think I want Brazilian Rosewood on the throat side of the riser, with maybe Phenolic or something very dark on the front with antler bolts and black glass on the limbs.
I'd love to see some pics of different woods on you guys' TT bows to help me make my decision for sure....can never see too many pics!
Thanks!
Craig

Here's mine....Ziricote riser with myrtle limbs, antler nocks also have antler TD knobs.

I just got my 2nd TT last Friday.

Brian wanted to do something a bit different on this one, so I pretty much told him to surprise me. He used a fantastic piece of Cocobolo for the riser, then put in a Mrytle flare, with Myrtle limb veneers....ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL

I don't know how to post pictures, so you'll have to trust me....it's purdy, and shoots every bit as good as it looks.

I talked to Brian last week and I'm going to stop by his shop in a few weeks to look at wood combos.  My bow is scheduled for early September.  I shot one of Steve O's back in May and had to have one.  Anyhow, I'm thinking Osage and Cocobola or Osage/Waterfall Bubinga.  I'm also "kickin the tires" on a phenolic combo.  I've always wanted a bow with osage in it though.

Craig, Thanks for posting pictures for me.

Tom, to the best of my knowledge, this is the 1st, and only bow Brian has done so far with the riser flare. I think he did a great job.

Brain and I both wanted to do something a little different on this bow. The only thing Brian knew was that I liked Myrtle, and I requested that he use Myrtle somewhere in the bow. I told him to use his imagination, pick the woods and surprise me. I knew he would put his best effort into it and come up with something special....boy, did he ever!

I ask Brian to make the grip circumference a bit larger, and make the GRIP RIDGE more prounounced. It couldn't have came out better if I had been standing there when he shaped the grip.

I'm not going to get on the soapbox and tell everyone how good the TT's shoot again, as I'm sure that gets old.

No one bow suits every shooter, but if you haven't tried one, you might ought to.

I think that flare riser is excellent, both the colors and design.

Osage and Phenolic Riser with Osage on the belly of the limbs and Black on the back.  Osage tips.

Steve, that combo sounds sweet!  After it's done, I might need you to rub it on Gene and Barry's hair challenged scalps for good luck.  Talk at ya soon buddy.......

I'm sure I could get the "other" rednecks to put some kind of mojo on it for you.
