How many strings do you bring on your big game hunts? I was gonna bring one extra on my moose hunt, but now I'm thinking two. How 'bout you?

I always keep one extra string in my pack, but have never needed it. They don't take up much room, so an extra string in your duffle is good insurance.
Good luck and have fun!

Guess two would be a good idea. One with you out in the field and the other back at camp.

Hunting in the mountains and far from home a couple is a wise choice, expecially with those skinny.I was used to don't carry any extra 1 since I broke one elk hunting in WY and I had to drive 4 hours before find a replace.

Two. One in the pack and one in camp. Cheap insurance on a long range hunt. Make sure they are shot in before the trip.

Thanks all, once I'm sure my second string is the right one, I'll order another.

I've been at it for 45 years. I shoot a lot, nearly every day. I have never broke or cut a string. I hunted with a fellow once years ago who cut two in half the same day (try finding bowstrings in Nashville, IN)! However, I always take one spare string on out-of-state hunts just in case.

Heck, on out-of-state hunts I often take an entire spare bow!

I carry two. I also make sure they are shot in with a proper nocking point and silencers installed.

I usually always have 2 spares, have only needed them once. ( Buddy cut my string with a machette, Long story but it was an accident.)
I even carry 1/4lb spools of B50, serving material and a server if going out of state. Don't want to have to go looking for something I can make myself!
Have had to twist up a couple in the past for friends that didn't think to bring a spare.
Like Dean said above: Better to have and not need than to need and not have.

I've carried one extra. The first year it was an old string I had replaced, it was still good but I didn't want to use it as my first line. This year I bought a new one, didn't shoot it in and never strung it on my bow. Big mistake. When I got home I strung the bow with the new string to shoot it in and retire the old. I had ordered a string too short. It probably wouldn't have worked for me if I needed it. Lesson learned, the easy way!

I have two in my pack and anywhere from 3 to 7 in camp if I am hunting out of State, I make my own so I also take my broad and material with me, just in case I have to build one for someone in camp.

I always carry an old tackle box in camp full of just about everything I could possibly need including 2 strings, and one of them is in my fanny pack when hunting.

I had one in the hood of my quiver that was there for years and it is with you if ever needed.
YES precautions needed to not cut it.
A OLD TIMER showed me the trick long ago.
