Any time I can get in the woods is best. I have been more successful in the evening, but I get more time to hunt then also.

My favorite time to hunt is mornings. Not because it results in more kills but because I enjoy seeing the woods come to life that time of day.
As far as success I've had as much in mornings as in the evenings. I've also had a very high success rate between the hours of 10:00am and 1:00pm. Guess it pays to stay in your stand while others are leaving the woods to get lunch! I'm a firm believer in staying in your stand daylight til dark, as long as your body will let you. (all the old guys will understand that statement.)

For general deer sightings evenings, but for the big guys I seem to have better luck in the mornings!

I like watching the woods wake up in the mornings and the sun rise, but have had the best luck at late morning to mid-day.
Its never crowded on the "extra mile"!

I love mornings for any type of hunting, fishing too. Gives you the rest of the day to process meat if you are lucky.  Don't like looking for stuff in the dark.  Plus I like to go to bed when the sun goes down or shortly after  :) ...Van

I'm not a morning person and I see more deer in the evening, but there is something magical in being part of the world as it comes to life.  If I can get myself going, I'll take a morning.  Rick

I guess if I have to choose it would be mornings. Like someone has already said, love to see the woods come alive. In the early season it's a lot cooler. Not gonna run out of daylight fora while. That being said, love that "witching hour" in the evenings. Killed my biggest bucks in early part of the season in the evenings. I guess I like all day the best.

Depends on what time of year around here. Early season evenings are my favorite. During October both morning and evenings In the nut trees. During November all day and December to January I'm back to evenings.

I love watchin the sun rise and woods come to life..........nothin like it. But given a choice between am and pm hunts I'll take the pm. While its true deer can be shot any time of day especially in november around here, it just seems that my personal anticipation is continually building as the sun gets lower in the pm, while my confidence and anticipation is whaning the higher the sun gets in the am if that makes any sense to you.
