need some tip about carbon shafts

Hi!
I`m out looking for some thin shafts (5/16 I believe) like the beman mfx or easton fmj similar, but with a lower gpi.
the shafts need to be in the 340 area.

If I could find some with a gpi around 7-8.5 it would be great.

Any ideas?

I'm going to guess the spine requirement to be 340?

Gold Tip Entrradas are extremely light weight for their spine rate, I use the .600 on my indoor set up.

Gold Tip Ultralight Entrada:
.600 = 5.7 GPI
.500 = 6.3 GPI
.400 = 7.4 GPI
.300 = 8.5 GPI

The Beman MFX Classic, is actually a 9/32" diameter shaft. But it is heavier than what you're wanting. The Easton ST Axis is also 9/32" but somewhat lighter then the Beman MFX. Gonna be difficult to get a 340 spine, 9/32" shaft that light.

Its going to be hard to find a skinny shaft like Axis/MFX in a lighter gpi.The lighest would be Axis Nano black 340 and they are 9.5 gpi.To get a lighter gpi shaft that stiff in the lighter gpi you may have to look at larger diameter carbons.Like maybe a Carbon Express CXL 350(.320 spine and 8.3 gpi),these are lightweight and stiff but a larger then 5/16 diameter.Another lightweight and stiff arrow are AD Nitro Stingers,these are a tapered carbon arrow.

Margly, I shoot Beman MFX's and if this is your initial set up with carbons allow me to say that carbons in general are MUCH stiffer than any chart indicates. While I have no doubt that the MFX 500's I shoot are .500 spine, mine are 30 1/2" throat to b.o.p. and bare shaft, paper tune and fly beautifully fletched with 345 grains up front out of my 54 lbs. @ 29" Toelke Whip. There is more at play here than the rapid recovery from paradox carbons display.  If I shoot the spine and point weight that the charts indicate I am extremely spine stiff, the point of this being that you may discover that you can shoot a lighter spine than you think and find the lower g.p.i. that you want.

Yes I do believe I can go lower in spine.
These shafts I`m looking for is to my 65# longbow. My draw-length is ca 30.5" and today I shoot both easton fmj and gt vapor pro and ultra light. Reason I`m looking for shafts as thin as the  fmj is that with an efoc setup like what I`m looking for, the fmj`s weights in at ca 800 grains and I think if I could go down at 8.5 gpi with a thinner shat I get both high efoc and faster arrows+ penetration(don't think I need that BUT..)
