Unique arm guard...does anyone remember?
«

Does anyone remember several years ago there was a picture of a rather good-looking blonde lady on the cover of TRADITIONELL BOGENSCHIESSEN magazine where she was wearing a long "bracer" type armguard that reached from her elbow all the way to her grip, with a hole for her thumb?
Does anyone know where I can find that picture? I need to send the picture to a leatherworker.

Basic detective skills led me to Google the magazine and check their archives. The first thing that looked like what you were describing was a pic from 2001. Long memory, Tom. Here is a link.

I didn't see the movie, but I think I saw Russell Crowe wearing a guard like that in one of the trailers for Robin Hood or in a still that popped up on one of the boards. I thought it looked pretty neat.

I think I found it. Go to:
http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2388233728/tt0955308
This is a promo site for the Robin Hood movie and it has a big slide show of stills. I quickly found several of Crowe wearing the kind of guard you describe. Unfortunately, i couldn't take them down or save at a size that would be helpful, but if you got the best shot on screen, maybe you could print.

Thanks, Killie and Dick. Killie, your detective skills are much better than mine!

Tom... I was able to find and print the picture I referred to. If you send me an email direct so I have your address, I'll scan it and send you a copy. I'm sure it's the design you were looking for. Pretty neat!
Didn't bother with the movie. From everything I could gather it was poor film making and poor story telling. I'll take my Robin Hood straight, thank you.

I like the bracer but I wouldn't get caught dead wearing that bib (even though my wife says I need one sometimes).
