feather color

Anybody use orange feathers and nocks? Are they good in low light conditions? I've always used yellow but I like orange and was wondering how good you can see them. Thanks.

I've used both, yellow is better for me in all conditions.  That being said, I prefer white above all others, unless there's snow on the ground, then I like chartruse.

Orange will not show up in low light conditions , I got tired of yellow a few years ago and tired orange. Back to yellow /Chartruse/pink .

I've been using two orange and one yellow for ever with a fluo, orange nock. No other nock shows up as well for me as that.

I love orange, and have gone to all orange - wraps, feathers, and nock.  Guess I haven't taken a shot in extremely low light conditions, but man, do they glow on the way to an animal otherwise!  Every animal I have shot while using them I have known exactly where the hit was.

I used to use red and yellow, but to me the orange are far brighter.  Hadn't tried the chartruse though, but I can see where that would be really good as well.

I used all orange (wraps, nocks, and vanes) on my compound arrows for years.  Like Whip said -- against the brown/gray back drop of a white tail they show up awesome!  However, with feathers...they aren't nearly as bright as the more flourescent vanes.  I didn't see the true-flight orange near as well as the AMG orange -- their colors seems to be a bit more flourescent.  Chartreuse is as bright as anything out there.

Tricia uses Gateway Tangerine and AMG fl. orange will be next. Both are very visible in low light.  Both colors show up well in all conditions that we have found.  Plus they show up well in bright light while in flight.  Chartreuse can wash out while in flight in bright conditions. I shoot chartreuse and love it for 95% of all field conditions.

I use to use orange, But found that I could not see them as well as white. Nowadays I shoot with white nocks and dont pay much attention to feather color but I do prefer the more subdued colors on a bright colored crown dip. Of course the enviroment I'm hunting in does play some in my decision.

I tried the same thing, shot chartruse for about five years and then jumped to flo orange. You can't see the orange in flight anywhere as good as the chartruse, especially during hours of low light. I just got a bag of flo lime from AMG. I like the lime better then the chartruse. I can even see the rotation of the arrow in flight! The base on the AMG feathers are a little blockier then the truflight brand but a real nice feather overall.

I like orange and yellow. I see them well in good shooting light. I don't worry about low visibility in low light situations, because I don't hunt when it is too dark. I just don't see well enough in general during low light to shoot, no matter the color of feather used. That causes me to have to quit earlier in the evening than I would like, but that just comes with the territory as one gets older.
