KME Knife Sharpener ?
« on: July 21, 2010, 04:24:00 PM »
I just received my KME Knife Sharpener today.  I have several questions for those who use this.

1) When I insert a Grizzly Broadhead into the jaws I have to move the angle mechanism to nearly 30 degrees in order for the stone to lay flat on the bevel.  I thought the new Grizzly's came at 25 degrees?  If they are 25, what am I doing wrong?

2) My sharpener has the regular stones.  Can you tell me which color is which coarseness?  I have a good idea just by feeling them but want to make sure.  I would think they would address this in the directions.

I would call KME & ask directly but I know their heading to Denton.

Thanks Everyone!

Just get the angle to match the grind on your broadhead and don't worry about it.You aren't doing anything wrong.I recently measured my new Grizzlies and the angle is actually 27.5,not 25.I don't care as long as they are sharp.

I have had my KME sharpener for some time and I think the stones have been changed since then.Have you looked on KME's site to see if you can tell which are which? kmesharp.com

Thanks everyone, I'll keep at it.  I think I have the stone grits figured now.  Gray is the most course, then red, orange, and white.
