Limb veneer wood choices.......... natural camo?

What's some woods out there that have a natural camo or break-up effect to them?  I know Black & White or Dalmation Ebony is a good choice and the right grain and cut of Zebrawood works well also.  Any others?  Anyone got pics (please post or email to [email protected])?

I think tiger maple or curley maple stained grey or charcoal makes for an excellant camo effect.I think alot of the wood choices for veneers do blend well though in general.After all thier wood.

That dalmation does make excellant natural camo I must admit.My big Jim longbow has it as well as yours I do believe?Bocote really blends well and many others.

Kenny, that Zebra is amazing!!  That's exactly what I'm looking for but it's hard to find Zebra like that.

I have some close to that. Those were a pair of broken corner lams that I couldn't sell ,so I threw em in my sons bow. Back has jatoba.

I recently ordered a bow with Bocote veneers for this specific reason. I expect it to arrive in a week or so. Will post pics when I get it!

I would think some nice cross cut elm would be a very nice camo.  Love Bacote if it's cut with the wild grain showing all the circles and swirls.

I really like the cherry on my Cumberland!

So many to go through...the Olive Ash are probably my on the top of my list right now.

Kenny,  have you ever stained Zebrawood?  I'm curious how well it takes a stain and what it would look like with a gray stain.

No, but I can send you a pc to play on. It is kind of open grain ,especially on the light coloresd stuff like in the pic.

It would be interesting,I like grayish too!

I would ask "WHY" you need camo?  If you spook a deer or animal, because of the color of you bow limbs, you got other problems.  Their an inch to an inch and a half wide!!!!!!!  Get what you think looks the coolest.

Movement. Camo helps break up the outline of your bow as you make the minor movements of coming to full draw. I like "leaf" sized patterns as leafs move in the wind.

I use snake skin on my hunting bow.

Mytle wood with the dark patterns in it is gorgeous and the right colors to blend into any environment.
