New archer
« on: July 23, 2010, 08:03:00 PM »
Never been around boys too much. I had a mom, a sister (dad worked a lot so I saw little of him), 3 daughters, 2 granddaughters and my current wife and her daughter. That's a lot of females. Well, Marissa, my stepdaughter had two little boys. Elijah just turned 3. His height and weight is that an of average 5 year old. His mom is 6"4' and his dad is as well. Last month I got an archery set for him, not knowing how he would take to it. I think the pictures tell the story.

And we thought it only appropriate to get him ready for future Muzzy Stump Shoots.

The fun and excitement comes right through the pics. I still remember my grandpa and the "guy" things I did with him. You're building a relationship that will last long after you're gone. And starting him off on something he can enjoy all his life

Bless the both of you

I bought my son that exact same bow set for his Birthday this year.  Tere aren't enough words to express how I felt when his face lit up when he first seen it.

That's great, the smile on his face says it all. I hope its something he will enjoy for the rest of his life. He will always remember who got him started and the times he spent with ya. My grandpa got me started and I still remember the days spent hunting with him the clearest.

He is going  to be a big boy. HIs mom was the State High School volleyball player of the year  her last two years in High School. She has a wing span like Lebron James. I just hope Elijah likes it, sticks with it and can find a bow that has a 32"+ draw. When I handed him the bow I was amazed at how his hand is already almost too big for the handle. Oh, well, he has a one year old brother to hand it down to if we have to refit him.

Izzy...he started wearing a hat that had been sprayed with bug repellent since he could walk with us outdoors. Now it is just part of who he is when he visits.
