Well, my highly anticipated longbow from St Joe River Bows finally arrived today. Let me tell ya, it is a one of a kind bow for me. Beautiful Purple Heart and Osage combo w/finger grooves. 64", 50 @ 29". Dave and Tracey were just above and beyond in the making of this bow and knife set. Knife is a Helle blade and handle made from the same wood combination. Communications throughout the building process were clear, trouble free and a pleasure. I give them a Ciscal and Ebert..

Wow TW! Very cool. That is the brightest purple, purpleheart I have ever seen. I had a custom knife with a purpleheart handle that I lost late season one year. Whn I found it the next spring it was almost black. That bow can change color alot with sun exposure, osage darkens and the PH darkens. Most important of all, how does it shoot?

If I don't see ya elbow deep butchering a Blacktail with the knife after shooting it with the bow, then you may have to move out of Oregon sarge. Now that's an order!

Ron, I'm gonna be hard after 'em when the end of next month arrives. It sure would be the icing on the cake to harvest my first with this setup!
Mike, that's why these two woods are my favorite. The darkening factor will make this a very unique bow as it ages.
This bow shoots like a dream. I set the brace at 7 5/8" and it is really driving 'em home. The extra weight in the riser is really allowing me to keep my aim steady! Should have figured this out a long time ago.

Ok, I played around with the nock and brace height. Shot 3 sets of three and on the fourth set, I shot this little group at approx. 18yds.
Man, I'm going to enjoy this bow for quite sometime! :D

Dave, I only had to present the idea. You and Tracey made it come together. It's a beautiful piece of work to me and we'll be spending many years aging together! I can't thank you two enough!

Very nice bow. I really liked St. Joe River when I shot them at K-Zoo in January. The matching knife is a nice touch.
