Bow won't tune

I have a 1969 Bear Polar 40# that I have been tinkering with. At this point I am at a loss. I cannot get it to shoot right.
I draw right at 28"
I have tried.
every cedar in the 35-45 lb range with a 125 gr tip. I have shafts cut every 1/2 from full length to 29" in every 5# increment of the above spine range.
I have moved the brace height to the moon and back.
Moved the nocking point more less from silencer to silencer.
No matter what I do the arrow still dips when it is shot. It is almost like its the rest material but I have moved/changed and adjusted it too. the shaft just drops/dips about 3/4 way to the target at 15 yards.
I have checked for bent limbs checked tiller at the fades and all seems good.
Any suggestions at all?

When you say dips is this nock low with a bare shaft or something like that? Have you checked it with video or a friend to see if the limbs bend right at full draw? How about having someone else shoot it for you to eliminate one major part of the shooting system?

You have checked everything on the BOW. maybe there is something in your form that is causing bad arrow flight.????????

Is it a double shelf model?

I had the same problem and it was due to me torquing the bowstring. Had to learn to relax my hand a bit more.

I never had great luck shooting off old bear or pearson shelfs. always cut a very small sliver off of a cedar arrow, and put on the shelf to make a small hump to shoot off of. it has helped more than one bow. I only use about 1/8", just enough to give the arrow something to ride on. good luck

If you are shooting 3 fingers under, try split finger.

I will try the aboce mentioned.
xtrema--- No the arrow you can see dip during flight. I guess about 4 inches or so.
I will try--
Elevated rest or something under shelf material.
I have tried split and 3 under both. I shoot 3 under.

Before you tear off your rest use electrictians tape to hold down a tooth pick directly above the deepest part of the grip. This will give you an idea of how much of a bump you need before you take off whatever is on the shelf. It might also be that your nock is set too high and the dip you are seeing is just the arrow correcting its line flight.

I've had that before James and it about made me go crazy. The arrow would dip but no sideways motion at all, It acted like a nock problem and it was the spine on my arrows, I cut a inch off the shaft and put my nocking point back were it should be and bam good arrow flight.
It was a fellow Tradganger(Steadman) that told me to try it and it worked. I'm close and off a few days if you need some help and want somebody to watch you shoot your bow. Send me a PM message and I will call you.

Try a stiffer spine arrow.

I have had strings cause issues before. Don;t know why, but replaced the string and problems solved.
Just a thought.

I was having similar problems. My arrow was hitting outside of the shelf. I talked to Steve Gorr and he suggested padding the window out slightly and putting something under my shelf material. That took care of it completely. Good luck.

I did notice while tinkering a little more with it today that the lower limb seems to be a bit weaker than the top.
