Looks like you are the only one Legend.  Stay cool and I hope the mosquitoes don't get you!

I predict Marty will have the first legally taken whitetail deer in the United States for the 2010-11 hunting season

I'm not a millionaire or rancher so I don't have a place to hunt deer in the southern zone.
(tongue in cheek)

As far as I know, the WMA(public lands)open later.
If I could, I would be out there.
The reality is, it's just as hot in September here.

Marty its hot in Florida in the winter , you should be used to it . And if the rut is in August than there's no better time to be out there . My Son is trying to get me to move down there but if I did I know if the season was open I would go hunting and probably die . That said it's been hotter in Jersey than Florida these last few weeks but our season doesn't open for awhile .I work outside in this heat but not by choice , Fred

I was looking forward to being there as the sun came up. But my wife must have deleted the invitational emails that Marty and Swampdrummer sent me. That's the only reason I could have possibly missed them.   :D

Well, you boys will just have to go at them without me. And remember to Bring'em back dead.
I'll be sitting here sharpening broadheads for September.

I'm neither one of those either (not even close)- I just have my monetary priorities out of whack for hunting- can't take it with me!

Whip- man you are pushing it!! Backstrap uh. Usually my guest bring me some Maine Lobsters or the equivalant. Bring lots of arrows- hogs abound! Peanut hates to trail hogs in deer season-so practice-practice-practice!

Best of luck swampdrummer-we're probably within 20 miles of each other. I'll send the skeeters over to check on you.

Not sure I can compete with Maine lobster.  But I can bring some great Wisconsin cheedar.  Maybe we can have ham and cheese sandwiches.  :D
I've been practicing as much as I can.  Hope to leave Peanut to relax in the air conditioning  ;)

Git 'em, Marty... but leave Peanut in the A/C.  (Gotta look out for Man's Best Tracker.)  Hope you have a great early season, AND that you survive it!!

But we are getting to hunt the rut down here  for the first time.  :)
