Alternative to Duco cement
« on: July 28, 2010, 05:30:00 PM »
Well, it's finally happened, I just can't find any Duco locally. Been using it for years, used to be could get it just about anywhere. I know a guy can use fletching tape, but I would like to find something I can just run down to the store and get. I use polyurathane finish and have tried Fletchtite with not the best results. What else is out there?

I saw it at Ace hardware. Best I've used for urethane.  Good luck.

Ace and the 'Dollar' stores have it in our area. That's a long way from Ohio, though.

Yep! Ace Hardware is the place for Duco. If the local store doesn't have it in stock, they'll order it for you.

tradgangers have been sooooo very good to me over the years so if I can pass along the favor let me know ? I can get it at O'reilly part stores, Family Dollar, Ace Hdw, etc, etc. Be glad to send to anyone on here that needs a few tubes. It costs $1-2 a tube, Family Dollar is the cheapest.

Just got my new Black Widow catalog and they even have it too. I think 3 Rivers carries it also. I too love it but just about kicked the glue habit and went 100% fletch tape. So much faster. JMHO

This may help find distributors close to home.

Just got back from lunch with Duco cement. Didn't even know there was a Family Dollar store in town, one of the ladies told me where it was. Sure enough they had it, $1.00 a tube, I stocked up..

Thanks for the help guys.  Have a good one.

Dragonheart... Never tried the Saunders on gasket laquer. The Duco on a cracker is outstanding however.   :D
