Two feathers

I had a friend of mine tell me that he shoots two feathers and gets great flight but doubted him. Last week I started fletching a 1/2 dozen arrows up and relized I only had 12 feathers. Working with what I had I fletched up the arrows and I cannot believe how good my arrows fly. In my case less is more, what do you guys think?

I shoot without feathers all the time. Tune your arrows properly and you can do it too, so two feathers would still be too many with a properly tuned arrow. Now put a broadhead on it and thats a different story. See what your arrows do with a broadhead up front. Frank

A two fletch with a pronounced helical on a properly tuned shaft will work fine with broadheads, if you do your part. A high or long fletch helps. I use three because it helps correct errors in my less than perfect form in hunting conditions. Bill

I don't think I'll shoot anything else but two now. Another good thing is they stack well in my quiver.

Jim Neaves of Centaur is a big proponent of two fletch. I've experimented with two 5.5" feathers placed at 11 o'clock and 5 o'clock, but I'm not sold completely on the system. Arrows fly good, but they fly much better with three.
(Of course, my release and arrow tuning could be a factor.)
For stumping and plinking, I will still use two fletch, however, I want three if there's a broadhead on the other end.

Jim is the friend that got me into it, I have a few of his bows and had many conversations about tunning arrows. He is a book of knowledge.
