KME broadhead sharpener ?
« on: July 30, 2010, 02:20:00 PM »
I'm swithing to Zwickey's and I'm also real interested in the KME. So, will the KME jig kit that 3rivers sells good for the job, or should I order the more expensive kit from the manufacturer?

Thanks in advance

I recommend the KME BH sharpener

Check the 3-Rivers site carefully. What they sell is the basic set for around $70.00 but you can go as high as $100 with the additions. I wouldn't buy without talking with Ron personally. He won't steer you wrong. The KME Knife sharpening kit is money well spent.

I have both the broadhead and knife sharpener and I really like them both.  As Bill said call Ron at KME directly and get his advice.  To give you an idea about KME's customer service.  When I bought my broadhead sharpener I called Ron and he spent over an hour on the phone with me until my broadhead was shaving sharp.

Anyone have a source for stones larger than the 2x6 size?

Just the DMT DiaSharps.  3x8 inches. They also make 4x10s.

Kind of pricey for broadhead sharpening but I have a few that do double duty at BH stones and woodworking tool sharpeners.
