I would recommend the 1916. I err on the weak side more than the stiff side in general. The reason being, you can always add material to the strike plate area above the shelf to get an arrow to act stiffer, or cut the arrow shorter. You can't do that with an arrow that's too stiff. All you can do is add weight to the front of an arrow that's too stiff, which sometimes is more difficult. But, adding more weight to the front CAN help with a higher FOC balance, which is also more desirable. Either way, I believe you can make both the 1916 and the 2016 work for you, one way or another.
