3pc. or 2pc. when it comes to longbows? What do you guys prefer? For what reasons? Just curious...   :coffee:

2. I like longbows to look and feel like longbows. 2 piece is still very packable. I don't think of recurved risered 3 piece "longbows" as longbows at all but hybrids. I'm not saying that hybrids are bad though!    :D

I like the three piece and can pretty much control riser weight with choice of woods. Steve

I like a plain ole 1pc and all mine are but if needed to be for long travel it would be a 2pc.

For me a two piece hill is hard to beat. Packs real easy, no tools to put together, very quiet to put together in the woods as well. Very bowhunter friendly in my book.

I have a 3pc. on its way. (I expect it to arrive any day now...hopefully!) I'm new to "traditional" archery and have held/shot 1 pc and 2 pc. models, but they seemed so light, as I am used to shooting a little more of a weighted bow (ya know, the kind with the wheels). Thats why I decided to go with the 3pc. I also like the ability to go with stronger limbs as I'm starting out with lower poundage. Otherwise, I really like the look and toolless designes of the 2 pieces. I'm sure I'll end up getting a 2 pc. in addition to the 3pc eventually...that'll just give me somethin' else to save my pennies for!    ;)

That's the key...what feels best to you. I, like you, like the mass of a 3 piece bow better than a 2. Of course, the pronghorns I've shot were not very massive and were superb shooting 3 piecers.

I like the fact that a 2pc looks and feels the same as a 1pc. I own both.....I like shorter bows so it works out well.

I had a mind set that I needed a recurve of a heavier design until switching a year ago to long bows. First started with a three piece LB and adjusted nicely and rather enjoyed packing the lighter weight. Have recently put over 5000 arrows through a single piece LB. My skill level is not high enough to note any change in accuracy and now find a well designed single pc LB to be quite enjoyable to shoot, easy to be accurate with and a pleasure to tote. Finding the bow that personally fits you, mastering the basics, and spending the proper time to become adequately acquainted will make your decision that much more fruitful.

2 piece all the way.  3 piece are way to bulky looking.  Just my .02 worth  With that and a $1 you still are hard pressed to get a coffee.

2 piece.  Lighter weight for easy hauling over long distances.  Looks like a single piece longbow.  And in my view looks a lot better than a three piece.

3 Piece work best for me, I like the looks and the feel of them, If you try each, it won't take you long to figure out which you like more as they have a completly different feel, I like the way the 3 piece feels in my hand and I think the extra weight gives me more stability. Choose what works best for you and don't look back! DK.

I love the look and feel of a nice one piece, and the two piece gives that same look and feel.
But I have settled on my RER 3 piece LX longbow as the one that I can simply shoot better than any other. So I go with what shoots best for me, and it's still a great looking bow as well.

I like the two piece longbows. 3 piece bows remind me of recurves. (Not that there is anything wrong with recurves!!)
