Please feel free to add comments as well, I need opinions. I did a search and didn't find what I was looking for to get enough info on this.
I had quivers on compounds in the past, but they were LOUD! They also loosened up easily. I am looking for advice before buying.
My setup is; 62 in AMO, 53lb, 3 piece takedown recurve.
Also, I know it can make a bow quieter, but which ones have you had success with in that regard?
Thanks in advance,

I never could shoot any bow with a quiver on it.I use a back quiver and just hang it behind me on a hook.As for silencing I cover all my bows with a rubber type tape that is self adhering and makes my bows quit.

What parts do you cover with rubber tape? The limb pockets?

I prefer to shoot without a quiver on my bow as well. I prefer the balance and weight of the bow without the quiver. As far as what quiver I do use, I prefer to use a tube style side quiver like a dawgware or an arrowmaster. I just hang them on a hook in the tree as well. These type of quivers are also better for ground hunting in my oppinion.

I cover from 1 1/2" form the tips to the top of the grip and the same on the bottom. It adds no weight and doesn't slow the bow down at all.You can get it from Nachez.com

I have used them in the past, but only to get to the stand. Then I hang them. I am using an arrow master now, but I just picked up a GN adjustable off the classifieds to try out. I may like it better on my MOAB given it is a light bow vs. using them on heavier TD bows.

Recurve yes.
Longbow no.
Different animals. No noticeable difference with the recurve, but my longbows just don't feel the same. On the other hand.....who knows. There is no 'right way' for any given archer/bow/quiver combo.
If I ever acquired my dream 1pc. longbow with solid heavy riser and sexy long limbs, my answer would probably change immediately !

I have used a Great Northern detachable on my recurves for years, but removed it and hung it from a limb on stand.
This year I have shot a MOAB a Trad Ganger loaned me and really liked it, so I ordered one--it should be here in a few weeks. In preperation, I took an old Delta bow quiver and made a GFA knock off that I will use with the MOAB--again hanging it on a limb on stand.

Always on the bow....I do use a fletch cover so that I am not waving my yellow or white fletching around. Mike

Arrowmaster. The only bow quiver I used that did not move was my Selway. I would probably try John Dill's Kanati or BigJim's quivers if I was to go back.

I personally use a cat quiver
Cabelas sells them and they are the best quivers that i have ever used. i have used all different types of quivers and this is the best. It has a covering over the top that keeps your arrows dry without squishing the fletchings and u can hold around 4-5 arrows in it. It also has a little pouch on it so u can carry miscalleneous belongings. It has 2 straps that go around your shoulders and they hav little clips that u connect to keep it on your back its great for ground hunting and when you get in a stand just set it down or put it on a limb. It also has an adjustable length so you can fit what ever size arrows you shoot in them. I hope this helps. Good Luck!!!!!!!

The only time I use a bow quiver is when I'm hunting from a treestand.
There is no good way to deal with any other type of quiver with a stand on your back.
And I have not found a good way to deal with quivers up in the tree. Where do you put a back/side quiver while in your stand? It has to be out of the way but still positioned to easily remove arrows.
