« on: July 31, 2010, 08:22:00 PM »
My old one either moved or died. Anyway would love some suggestions. Need a dozen to start a new relationship.   :)

My budget is $120 with broadheads.

Several good ones in the sponsors list. Its gonna cost you about $100/doz for decent arrows. BH are going to be your choice - a dozen Ace or one Silver Flame for about $45.

I will look at these listed in the sponsor list. I was paying $90/dz with my last builder....and add broadheads was another $30 - 40.

Any other suggestions out there?

Paul Mattson at Badger Arrows is great if he is not still taking care of his family after a medical emergency. Ted Fry at Raptor Archery is also excellent, as is Dan Jaquay who goes by Jake here. There are others too, of course.

Rick Stillman at "The Feathered Shaft" on the sponsor's list is another great choice.

I have some of his spruce "spine test" arrows.
They seem VERY well made.
Also Rick is very pleasant and helpful.
Always has been very quick to answer my questions.

I ordered some from  www.jeronimocustomarrows.com.   Joel is a good guy and builds some good looking arrows.  Check out his site.

i agree with seabass, making your own isn't that hard. and you can do whatever you want with them. feels good to know that you killed your animal with your arrow    :D  it just makes it that much better. Good hunting!!!!!

Another vote for Rick Stillman.  He is a fine craftsman and a stickler for detail... and arrowsmithing is a WONDERFUL place for both of those things!  He's a great guy, too.

I have had the best luck with wood arrows from Brian Ferguson of allwoodarrows.com
and the best thing is u can get a dozen cedar arrows under $80. i have recently switched from shooting carbon to wood. and i gotta say i am shooting better than ever.

I've have also been having Paul at Badger arrows making my arrows, he's a great guy making great arrows, like amar911 mentioned, his family did have a medical emergency and he shut down shop for awhile to help out at time, but if you look him up on the sponser list on this site he has his cell phone listed there and always answers. Check out arrows made by Suzanne St. Charles at  http://www.nwarchery.com/

I just ordered a couple dozen of Custom Deluxe Sitka Spruce arrows from her...they should be here in a couple weeks.  She is super nice and knows a lot about cedar and spruce shafting.
