Choosing a bow for the season
« on: July 31, 2010, 09:22:00 PM »
Every year it seems I go through a ritual of choosing which bow I will shoot and stick with to begin my season. This year here is my final choice. 58" Tall Tines recurve, Kanati quiver, and Trad Only 500 arrows with 100 grain brass inserts and 100 grain Magnus Stingers.

What is your final decision?

ACS Adcock 64" longbow all the way for me. Drives arrows like tacs. I killed an Axis with just this past hunting season.

Dave, nope last year I carried my Morrison Cheyenne to the tree on day one. Didn't get the Tall Tines until November.

Great choice, Tom...

I have not made a final decision yet! Waiting, and pretty sure it will be my +/- 51# MOAB 60" that should be ready in a week or two   . Will use Fletcher (Rick's) Douglas Fir ready-to-fletch with turkey feathers and Zwickey Deltas if it arrives, tunes, and shoots like I think it will.

Otherwise, it will be my Robertson Vision Falcon 55# 62" with Whispering Winds arrows and Snuffers.

Good luck to all this season!

Oooch, this always hurts. Haven't decided yet. My H2 or my Apache. Which ever, it will be the one bow for this season.
Take care,

As it stands I'm waiting on a Morrison that I picked up here. So If things go well Morrison goes huntin. If not my 64" ACS gets the job done just fine. AT 54@27 she throws those grizzly sticks tipped with no mercy bh like bolts of lighting.

I'm waiting for a 64" 45# @ 28" set of long bow limbs from Bob Lee archery, if I don't have enough time to get used to them before the season I'll then be using my 50# Bob Lee take down long bow, I pull 31 1/2 inches and would like to lighten it up a bit, we'll have to see. Along with that I shoot full length Carbon Express heritage arrows with 3 5" left wing shield feathers tipped with the old Bear 145 grain broadheads with the slip in bleeders, I'm always trying different heads in practice in the off season, but always come back to the bears. I think I'll start a thread on which heads people will use this up coming season, I've found the perfect bowyer for myself but always looking for a better broadhead!

64" BobLee Classic TD LBow 57# @ 32 1/2
64" BobLee BCentenniel TD RCurve  53# @ 32 1/2"
Always looking for BobLee Long Bow or RCurve Limbs, 64" 40# to 50#.

Still undecided got two tuned and ready to go, 1 preowned on the way, and just broke down a couple of weeks ago and ordered a Whip from Dan Toelke (been dialing half the number then hanging up for about 5 months now) My first hunt is September 1 so I guess I better start figuring it out...Shawn

I'm still kickin it around between the 76 Bear Super Kodiak 55# or the Samick Spikeman 50# as both shoot so great.

But I am leaning towards the Bear Super Kodiak   :bigsmyl:

I about to get me a predator classic around the 55-60# mark, or a bob lee take down, still undecided.
