It's not a "Reality Show". It's not intended to fool people that it's real. They state right out that the scenarios are set-up to give a representation of what survival responses would be under similiar circumstances, with two guys approaching it in their own style. That's why they spend so much time explaining the conditions and why they choose their priorities and methods. It's not a hunting show, so there is no need to go into every little detail and present "actual" hunting scenes. The object is to teach survival skills and a survival mentality in an entertaining way. Both those guys teach survival. Dave has his own YouTube channel and heads the Pathfinder School, and Wilderness Outfitter's Archery.
Gerry, I'll have to check out Cody's book, thanks for the head's up. I didn't care for him at first, and still don't get the barefoot thing, but I'm developing an appreciation for his style. Even Dave was impressed with the shelter he made on the Shipwrecked scene. Still though, if I had to choose between eating Grubs with Cody, or Roast Turkey or Pig with Dave, I've gotta go with Dave.
