Well, some of you know Lamont. He owns and operates The Footed Shaft in Rochester MN. This is a traditional archery shop. Lamont is pretty rich in the knowledge and history of our favorite past time. Many folks know him and he knows practically everybody that has something to do with archery. He is pretty free with his knowledge and I don't know a better man. I hope I am considered one of his friends.
Lamont was recently diagnosed with cancer. I'm kinda surprised he didn't just search his soul and tell the cancer to go jump, that he didn't have time for it, but I guess that's not how it works.
As some of you know, a benefit shoot was held this past weekend at the Rochester Archery Club. It was a shoot unlike any I had been to before. No, not unlike what I do at home, at my own range, but. . . well. . .
The Club allowed the use of their range, and it was awesome. Hills, trees, river, it had it all. But we didn't use their targets.
We used jugs. Big ones, small ones. Heck some of the targets were the bottle caps suspended from cords and painted orange.
A few of the shots were wide open. . but pretty far.
The rules were. shoot from the stake, or anywhere between the stake and the target. Suit your taste.
