This is the place. Lot of people in the area but they don't know the treasure that is close by. Can you tell where we are?

There's a nasty ole slough off the main lake. Let's head there.

My bowfishing buddy, Tom Maul scouts out the canal leading to the slough. A few gar and buffalo cruisin the canal off the main lake.

Tell Tom to hurry up and change his shirt, those light colors spook a lot of fish where I bowfish. It looks like he's holding the bow in the wrong hand too! I hope to get out this weekend coming up.

Tom is a lefty and a good shot to boot. We have our cloud camo on  :) . The fish see us in white and think it's a cloud.

Where are those fish?

Way to start off the day!

The water is up from all the rain we have had. The slough is full and we have all afternoon. Ah, Here is where we want to be.....

Tom connects again on a gar.

Carlyle or Waterloo.  Right?  Tell me when you want a companion.

Not Carlyle or Waterloo. There is a clue in one of the pics.

Tom lets me man the bow and I connect... There were lots of fish working but they were kinda spooky. We pulled up the motors and took turns paddling and pushng the boat with a paddle. Stealth mode

A pretty good gar lies up in the weeds. We were by him before I spotted 'em

Tom gets a good one!

Way to go, John! Is that the Arch I see in one of those pics?

Yes it is Brad. We are within 5 miles of the Arch. Don't say the name of the lake if you know where we are. Don't want any more competition than necessary.   :)

I don't know the name of it John, but maybe I'll try to put the screws to Maul and get him to tell me when I see him next week at Rend Lake! Are you going?

If I go it will just for the day. Don't know if I will bring the boat although Tom and I got into some with the boat last year when the water was up. I will warn Tom that you will be trying to steal our secret spot  :)

That's all I got folks. We shot several carp and buffalo also and had a few misses along the way. Just a great day on the slough. The mud, blood, stink and slime of bowfishing. Back to the dock we go...........
