I have used the gray and the predator deception brown.  It seems that when I've used the gray game seems to detect me sooner than when I use the brown.  Also, I live and hunt in South Texas and the brown seems to blend in a little better in the brush.  Predator makes a great product and I'm sure you will be very satisfied.

However, you may also want to consider ASAT camo.  I have the ASAT 3d leafy suit and it works even better in my experience.  Deer have come so close (under 10 yards often) and they can't make out your outline so they don't spook as easy.

Good Luck,

I'll find out soon.  Just ordered some fleece in Predator Gray from Day One.  Already have some ASAT and ordered more.  Be a good comparison.

I hunt from the ground in central and southwest Texas and both work but I feel more invisible using the brown. I have also had success using the ASAT.

I hunt the woods of north west North Carolina and I like the Predator fall gray and brown deception -- especially as a tree stand camo after the leaves start to turn and fall. The open patches of lighter color make it hard to see against the patches of sky that show up as the leaves start falling.

That & ASAT are all I wear, year round. I like t mix & match it too. For ground hunting I like the combination of ASAT Pants & Predator Top.

I sometimes feel that fall gray is to white looking. Is that ok? Anybody ever use snow camo with no leaves?

Bucky,
remember Predator's motto..... " trophy racks, not store racks !" We converted several years ago after finding our Mossy Oak " black blobbing" on us at 30 yds or more. We passed the turkey flock test last year in a lone white oak tree in a clearcut in December at 7 yds. That was two hunters in the same tree too. Why do you think the new Mossy oak and Vertigo camo by Scent Lok has so much white in it..... copy cats ! Predator had it right all along. JMHO

Most of us choose camo that is too dark for our environment.  Never hurts to go lighter as long as the pattern is not too small.

I admit I have no idea what camo you are talking about -- I haven't bought camo in 20 years, but make sur I am always wearing something that has broken patterns: plaid, squares, stripes etc.

Wearing an old pair of overalls and a dark green longsleeve shirt, I was taking a break and watching several doe with youngsters walking about 25 yds from me.  One of the doe slowly walked up to me, carefully stuck out her nose until it was about an inch from mine, then turned and walked back to her group and they walked on down the trail.

Since then I have not been too worried about camo, even with elk.
Blessed are the peacemakers

Rocketdog is right, most of the darker camos just turn into a big dark glob at distance. I like the contrasting light and dark of the fall grey, that is what breaks up your outline...that being said I've had elk walk within ten yards, look at me and keep walking, not spooked when I was wearing solid wool pants and a flannel shirt...but if you move or they get your wind they are gone.

I think that there is the additional factor of texture in fleece, wool, flannel that makes it more effective- wether it be a plaid or not... It reflects less light and thus is more tonally balanced
...

Maybe I am overthinging this, but the three of them are on the dull side...

I am just starting to use it here in VT when it gets cold here in our late december bow season. Just got a fleece parka from Day One to go w/ my bibs that I've had for 2 years. Hope to field test soon.

I like the Predator fall gray and brown deception.  Their new fleece jacket and pants are outstanding.
