Hunting Gear?
« on: August 10, 2010, 07:15:00 AM »
IN AT this morning in the traditional section I posted what I normally carry in the woods when I go hunting & the thought come to me.

What do y-all carry?

This is what I wrote..

I cary a few things in my pack but none of em are any of those fancy doo dads that has been the kick for hunters.

Multi tool.
Water.
First Aid Kit w/ fire starter, Compas w/ maps.
Gloves & wipes for cleaning game.
Drag rope.
spare glasses, meds, Tab.
Grunt tube, & rattle bag.
no-scent powder for wind, Red Fox Pee for cover scent.
1 MRE.
Folding saw.

I cary 2 knives on me & my cell phone "but turned off."

Shower with Baking Soda.

I'm by no means a pro hunter where I get a Deer 99% or the time but then most seasons I can at least have 1 - 2 in my freezer, but I enjoy my time in the woods beeing one with nature & possibly take home a Deer & if I needed to I could make camp anywhere because of the little bit of gear in my pack & my noggin.
Zona Custom Recurve: 60" 49# @ 27.5".
Sky Sky Hawk Recurve: 60" 47# @ 27.5".
Genesis 27:3 Now therefore, please take thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and hunt game for me.

Thermacell, water, flashlight, couple knives, thermacell, thermacell refills, and thermacell.  Hunting down here means the skeeters are hunting you so I may forget my arrows but I never a thermacell!

If i am hunting around the house or away from home I take a bow, arrows, grunt call, scent away, knife, rope, water, a lighter, a flashlight and all of the woods skills that my Grandpa taught me long ago...
