It's only on the skin and not on the flesh you can not tell they were even there after you skin the animal.
My brother shot a big doe a long time ago and she had some on here, Never seen any since.

That is where deer pick up Horn worm, larvae grows under the skin, uusually pick it up by running where cows are, saw it in lots of deer I have killed. Usually, by season, you will just find a grey tumor looking lump under the skin

That reddish one is probably just from hom rubbing it on brush or the skeeters got em.They are usually very dark like the ones on his neck.We used to see it very commonly up here but not so much anymore. I have a sissy friend who is scared of everything from entering the woods at dark dawn to cows in pastures and farm dogs and the last deer I saw with those tumors he killed it and ate it.If he can anyone can.

Just some kind of fiberous tumor(don't remember the exact name)....as far as I know it has nothing to do with any parasite. They're absolutely harmless, and are only skin deep as Tracy said...just as good to eat as any deer!!

They are a wart and usually clear up within a few months time, unless you get him before then. You can google "deer warts" and find information on them.
