I am looking to order a JD Berry. Either the Apollo(forward handle) or Renaissance? Any thoughts? Thanks.   BILL

I don't think you could go wrong the either one.I had a JD Berry Yaweh,it was pretty sweet, great shooter and beautiful.I also like forward handle bows for shootablity,I feel they can be more forgiving.

i have a taipan and an argos. taipan made from the same form as apollo i think. and argos is the same form as the renaissance. i like the taipan the best. it is the best bow i have ever shot.the forward riser seems to make it point very well. so my vote is for the apollo  :)

I've had an Apollo for 4 years....nice shooter, excellent craftsmansip.

I just can't imagine a longbow shooting any better than the Apollo.

For classic looks I like the Renaissance.Just has a more timeless look. They shoot nice.I had one and also had the plain Jane Scorpian.

I had a 64 inch Taipan and also a 66 inch Apollo.I think thier may be a little more riser mass in the Appollo and it is forward set.Its a nice shooting bow.

I never had those 2 styles of bows at the same time to directly compare side by side.Seems the Apollo in theory shoud be more pointable.

I enjoyed both models but prefer the looks of the Renaissance personally.

I would talk to Berry personelly before making a final decision.

My wife has a Renaissance and I have an Apollo.  Both bows are gorgeous as all other Berry bows and they shot great.  For me I shot the Renaissance better.  It could be just my preference about the grip and speed.  The Renessance shoots quicker when I tried both with same arrows.

James once told me he felt the hardest one for him to satisfy his customers/friends is the bow grip.  I suggest you should talk to James about what you like.  He can go for miles and he has a lot to share.

I had a Rennaisance and loved it. It was a little too heavy though. I had James make me a Taipan and I love THAT even more. It is also the best bow I have ever shot. It is my only bow now.Well, almost.

That Taipan is one fine looking bow. I've admired the lines of your bow each time you post pics. Nice work.
