Suggestion for Fletching Jig?
«

My uncle was kind enough to give me a jo jan multi fletcher, I used it on a larger diameter shaft and it worked well. Problem is I shoot Beman MFX which are 9/32 and the clamps don't quite settle low enough to get consistent placement of fletching.
Until I can get a few more things to make my own wood arrows, I'd like to get a jig to work with my MFX. Does anyone know of a jig that works well with skinny carbons? (MFX/Axis)

The bearpaw is really nice, it comes with a different holder for either small shafts or standard. Its a pretty good price to, got mine at Kustom King.

I fletch up Axis/MFX on my Jojan multi flecther with no problem.Just just need to adjust it until the feather lays good on the shaft.I have used BPE,Bitz and fletched all diameters of arrows along with my Jo Jan.Just play with the side to side adjustment until you get the feather contact you want.

All I shoot is the skinnies and have no problems fletching them with helical fletch on the Jojan.

I like my BPE, BUT I hate my Jojan.
However,I like my Arizona easy fletch the best

I would have to say a bitzenberger has been my best. i have a 6 arrow jojan and I don't like it at all. I get inconsistent gluing on the jojan, but never on the bitz. just my 2c.

I used a BPE for many years until I wrecked it (my fault, not its). Then I tried the Bitzenburger, and it really is much better.

I'll have to check into the Blitz, I'll look for an adjustment on my Jojan too. Even with the bigger diameter shafts on the Jojan the clamps don't seem to rest consistently. I feel like I need to babysit most of the slots.
Fletching is new to me though, maybe a few more adjustments and some practice and I can get the Jo Jan to work.
Thanks for the advice guys, once again coming through for me.

My suggestion would be to try and adjust the Jo-Jan. Hap

Bitz. I have used a few different ones, but the Bitz is the best one. Slow, but dependable and solid. The fletch will always but always be in the spot you intend it to be in.

Buy a bitz and your grandkids kids will use it. Always cheaper to buy the best you can afford

I bought a JoJan (called a multi-fletcher then) about 25-30 years ago and still use it with no problem. When you insert the feather in the clamp, let it extend 1/8" below the clamp and settle it onto the shaft.
