Right now I would say your crazy ordering an all black bow from John, who can put together some amazing wood combinations..... but im sure once you get the bow and post pics I will be thinking, man that looks good.

I gotta ask,  are you doing some night hunting??  Some 'shining maybe?     ;)

I've got an all black bow on order from John - 64" and 47@28.  I knew I wanted a phenolic riser but was undecided about the limbs so I asked his opinion on veneers and he actually suggested black glass.  I think it will look great.  I've had an all black bow before and thought it was classy and beautiful in an understated way.  I think you made a good choice!

Black is cool but he makes such a pretty bow, I don't think I could do all black. No matter what they are made of they sure do shoot well!!!

Wish I could afford another.  Congrats Jeff, I'm sure you will be happy but I know you know what you are already getting.

If I could I would order a  take ddown from John, then my real problem will be do I hunt with my big River, or do I hunt with my other big river? :banghead:  I know tough problem to have.

My Dad ran into John on Saturday, he seemed to be doing well!

I guess not   :saywhat:  judging by Cyclic-Rivers response.

Negative on the web-site.  John is old-school (which I can certainly appreciate in many ways).  No e-mail either.

Do I hunt with my Big River hill style or my Big River R/D?  Yep!!  Taking both to Colorado.  I hadn't made friends with the R/D until last week and now shoot it almost as good as the hill style.  Only thing is that now I'm thinking I might need another one................... why?  Just because I 'only' have two.  :archer:

You can Call John, He is at his shop almost everyday.  If you need a phone # just send a pm to one of the guys here that own his bows. I'll be glad to pm his #.

They are tough to come by used, if you see one they don't ever last long.

I have three of John's bows.  Might order another.  Two are black,  The first, I ordered in all black.  I told him right out that I was gonna spray it camo, and I did, both the black ones.

I don't need a beautiful bow.
