Wrapped my McDonald Recurve around a tree!
« on: August 17, 2010, 02:08:00 PM »
ARRRGH  I cant believe it..10 days befor season I have got a monster muley located, and I did this!

Ha... Actually I wrapped some mossy oak shadow grass around my favorite bow. strechy camo type tape, (its really Vet Wrap for you animal people)

there is no shine to this rubbery stuff, I dont really care about the camo but the shine on any bow will kill you, (ever see a horn flash?)

A bow with a quiver full of arrows is like a huge reflective mirror waving around, I have always went to extremes to deal with this...from slip on socks, to flat paint, heck even mud!

But this strech wrap is the bomb, it does not stick to your bow, but it sticks to itself very well, it is rubber based so it quiets a bow, plus it protects your finish (rattlesnake skins on this one)

I found this at sportsmans warehouse

its pricey 15.00 a roll,(one roll does a bow and quiver hood) vet wrap is about 3.00 a roll, and I use the white vet wrap in snow ...but you add Mossey oak?

where can you get the white vet wrap?  I have a bow on the way that I would like to put the vet wrap on and then spray paint my own pattern on it.

Thanks,
Ken

I think any farm supply - vet supply etc,

the vet wrap is used mostly with horses, it comes in every neon color you can imagine for 3 bucks a roll, add mossy oak and it is 15$  thank toxey

pat... you better just permantly loan that bow to me just in case you know

ugly? at least I have a bow

FYI they also make this stuff for humans, it comes in a light tan (flesh color). It is called Ko-lastic or Ko-ban, my wife gets it at the hospital where she works.
Might be able to find it at your local drug store.

      Scott,
I am sure it serves it's purpose very well, but that is one ugly bow!

As far as my McDonald goes if you need it it's yours, but I think I will hold on to it for safe keeping.

Thanks for the info Scott!  I just ordered 6 rolls of the 4" wrap; 2 of each color green, black, and white.  Can't wait to give it a try!
