20th Anniversary Hummingbird Longbow
« on: August 19, 2010, 08:25:00 PM »
I just received my 20th Anniversary Kingfisher Longbow from Ben not to long ago and thought some of ya'll would like to see a picture or two.

As I have said before, I shoot Ben's bows very well. I opted for the matte finish on this one because it's gonna be the longbow that I take to the white-tail woods with me this fall.

Specs are........64".....50# @ 29".....zebra wood and cocobolo in the riser with some real nice zebra wood in the back side of the limbs and curly maple with the arrow inlay on the belly.

It performs like all of the Hummingbird bows do and prefers my 35/55 Gold Tip Trads with 50 grain brass inserts up front and 125-145 grain tips.

NICE - love the contrast in color and the inlay.  But I think he made it wrong handed.

Those pictures really aren't that good, I was in a rush.......and didn't even take any of the back side limb veneers. I promise to do "better" next time.

Rick,

No........those pictures were taken before I purchased the Nikon from you. We also have a Panasonic FZ-30 (which the pictures were taken with).......and an older Sony with a Zeiss lens on it. I have found that different makes of camera's tend to take better pictures depending on the situation.

That old Sony takes the best sunrise/sunset pics that I have ever seen (warmer colors) and the Panasonic takes the best pictures when it is cooler colors that you are after. I don't know much, but have learned a few things along the way.

Beautiful.  Nothing like having a piece of art in your hands to admire when the deer are not moving.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

I was doing a search for Hummingbirds and found this thread.

I have that bow itch again...

Anybody know if they make the 3 piece in 66"?

how fast are they?
