To date I have owned a Widow PTF, three different Blacktails, some vintage Howatt's and Bear Super Kodiaks, Kodiaks,a Big River, three Bruins, a Wes Wallace, A Rose Oak King Panther.

I like the early-mid 1960's-early 1970's Damon Howatt Hunters/Montereys and 1965-66 Kodiaks the best. Of the modern bows the Rose Oak and Bruins were my favorite. Nicest fit and finish goes to the Rose Oak.

I own two 66" Blacktail take down recurves. If I were to get a one-piece recurve, I would like to get a one piece 66" Blacktail. I shoot both of my Blacktails so well and the bowstring never hits my arm so I don't have to wear an armguard when I'm shooting them. I also love the grip on the Blacktails.

Best one peice recurve I ever shot was a Hummingbird Kingkisher , to me it was smoother and more quiet than his takedown .

Rose Oak King Panther.  Beautiful, just beautiful.  Shoots great and Brandon is great to work with.  Just got number 2 a week ago.  Thinkin' 'bout number 3.

I would vote for the Black Widow PTF X.

I have owned many in the last 40 years but the BW is the best IMHO.

Here's a pic of the Talon onepiece. This was a prototype bow. Unfinished.

Damon Howatt Hunter.

Why?

Because many archers a lot better than me say so.
Because few recurves, new or old, can outperform it.
Because it adds 2.5 lbs per inch after 28.

Thats a smooth drawing bow.

I've owned and shot a bunch over the years but if I could only have one from here on out it would have to be one of my mid 1960 Howatt Hunters or my 1968 Howatt Monterey.

Rose Oak Super Wildcat would be the one piece I've held in my hand that I think is tops -- nuclear version of the Bear Super Kodiak. However, I'd bet the Schafer Silvertip in 1-piece would be amazing!

Mine would likely be a Great Northern Ghost, altho I have a Rose Oak that is a really nice shooter.

Mine would have to be the Bruin Recurve one piece. I had one for a while then got what I like to call the 2 year bow itch and traded it. Iv wanted another one since just cant seem to save the money.

For me it would be my BW PTFV. Suits me to a T!
